The Wind has a Body, 2026 The Wind has a Body, 2026

»The intangible asks something different of us — presence instead of attachment, surrender instead of control, humility before what cannot be held.«

This selection of drawings and paintings emerged in dialogue with the wind, during a self-organized residency on the Aeolian Islands. Over a period of continuous, on-site practice, always facing the sea, the works took form — paintings on canvas were hung outdoors, left in constant interaction with the wind. Alongside ink, I used natural pigments: volcanic minerals gathered from a neighboring island, charcoal, and indigo carried from Mexico. Wind appears here as a counterpart — one that touches us, moves us, reminds us, and withdraws again in the same instant. In this encounter, we are thrown back on ourselves. Like a memory — the breath of long-past days on skin, gone again the next moment. This work is an impulse to reach toward the intangible, the fleeting — and to question our own relationship to it.
